THE 2012 SUMMER ARTS INITIATIVE PROVIDED BY THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF EAST MISSISSIPPI.

The Community Foundation of East Mississippi recently gave a $900 grant to the Boys and Girls Club of Neshoba County. The grant was made possible by the Pat Thomasson Fund established with the Community Foundation. We are excited to have Pat be a part of CFEM, and welcome her as our new Board President! Pictured are left to right: Pat Thomasson, Thomasson Company and CFEM Board President; Rae Gordon, President, Boys and Girls Club of Neshoba County; M'Lea Davis, CFEM Executive Director; and Tarsha Love, Executive Director for Boys and Girls Club of Neshoba County.

In December 2011, the Community Foundation of East Mississippi awarded the MSU Riley Center for Education and Performing Arts with a $3,000 grant to support a scholarship program for underprivleged children who may not be able to afford a ticket to one of the MSU Riley Center's education programs. The Community Foundation is very proud to continue to support this initiative and the excellent work and programming of the MSU Riley Center. Pictured are M'Lea Davis, CFEM Executive Director, and Dr. Charlotte Tabereaux, Education Director, MSU Riley Center.

The Community Foundation of East Mississippi presented a check for $938 to East Mississippi Animal Rescue earlier this month.  On August 10, 2011, we were honored to welcome Chritie Bennett, a representative with the Plum Creek Foundation, who generously provided us with a grant for $5,000 in support of CFEM's 2011 Summer Arts Initiative. Pictured are Clay Holladay, left, Secretary of CFEM; Barbaree Heaster, President of CFEM; Christie Bennetter, with Plum Creek Foundation; and Pat Thomasson, Vice President of CFEM. Christie visited us in Meridian to deliver the check from Plum Creek. We had a wonderful visit and lunch with Christie, and learned much about each other's organization's. Thank you, Christie and Plum Creek Foundation!
