CFEM announces its 2012 Summer Arts Inititative grant program

The Community Foundation of East Mississippi and its donors believe a strong and inspiring arts programs can have a powerful and positive effect on young people's lives.  In support of this belief, the Community Foundation is proud to announce the 2012 Summer Arts Initiative that will support local organizations in East Mississippi that engage area youth in arts-integrated programs during the summer . This summer will mark the 5th consecutive year the Community Foundation has provided the grants to organizations in its five-county reach—Clarke, Kemper, Lauderdale, Newton and Neshoba counties.

The 2012 Summer Arts Initiative offers quick response, small-scaled grants to organizations working to engage youth in hands-on artistic programming during the summer months. Organizations that encourage youth to express themselves through diverse artistic mediums, including drama, music, painting, sculpting, photography, writing, etc. are encouraged to apply. Eligible organizations include schools, governmenta programs, museums, libraries, and/or nonprofit organizations that integrate arts in a summer program.

 

The application process for the 2012 Summer Arts Initiative has now closed. Check back soon for a list of organizations in East Mississippi that have received funding in support of the great summer programs they are offering to area yout this summer!
